Text: 1999.5 VW GOLF TDI(99-05 body style) 4Dr, black/black.
Everything is in great working order.
40+ MPG!!! Great for commuting!
I just had the the Automatic transmission replaced(so it has 12 months of warranty left) because of it sliping
and took it to a VW dealer to have the following maitenance done:
- timing belt
- timing belt rollers and tensioners
- serpentine belt
- water pump
- fuel lines
- mass air flow sensor
- air/cabin filters
- all oil/water/ brake fluid flushed
- whatever else is on their 40k/80k/120k service
With all of this maitenance done it is good for another 80k(except oil changes of course)
The diesel engine is in remarkable shape(never a puff of smoke, pulls strong and starts the second you touch the key) and the transmission was just replaced so the driveline will be worry free for at least 150k.
The car has 180k miles on it (which is nothing for a well maintained diesel engine, and everything else has been replaced or is in like new condition). Brakes were recently changed, and suspension has been changed sometime in the life of the vehicle. It has a new windshield
Things not perfect with the car
-small chips on the hood due to small rocks from trucks etc., the bumper has
been repainted and windshield replaced, so no chips there.
-Interior door handle paint and steering wheel are faded/worn (like every VW
I have seen regardless of the mileage).
-rear windshield wiper motor works, but stops and jumps(not very usefull
wiper anyway)
The price is $13,000(I just put in $9,000 in service + the GPS system)
and you can suggest a better offer, but I probably will say no.
The only reason I am selling is because I decided I want a standard transmission.
