Text: 1993 Chevy Suburban 1500 4-door black color.
4-Wheel Drive. (posted on AutoTrader.com)
I'm selling it because I needed it for a video project to haul a lot of gear to Marin County but project has ended. The plates have "expired" and I know I probably need a tune-up to get it to pass smog inspection so I figure I will use this opportunity to sell it - since the new owner has to pay for a smog check anyway ...
MORE DETAILS:
About 129,000 miles.
Can tow 4,000 lbs.
Two new tires - the other two have less than 4,000 miles on them. New battery.
Spare tire - FULL SIZED tire. In interior of truck - has carpeted covering.
Gets about 13.5 miles to the gallon - freeway & city driving.
42 gallon gas tank so you can go about 550+ miles on a fill-up - I drove to LA once on one tank of gas. Gas gauge pretty accurate.
Engine runs great and loves the freeway - it is smooth as silk on the freeway, comfortable and you can sit up hgh - you'll feel like driving 300 miles :-)
Great air conditioner. Very cold. Second row has own AC controls.
No third row seat (previous owner couldn't find it, I just figured it was another hundred lbs not to waste gas on :-)
As you can see, inside pretty excellent to solid overall - seats, no rips or tears. Some stains in the carpet in the cargo area. But generally in excellent to solid condition inside.
Back doors are dual door-version that open to left-right (versus the other type that drops down).
Car has no real body damage - there's a tiny dent near the back bumper.
Car does have some minor paint issues. Before I owned it, someone drew something on the driver's door so the paint is marred like nail polish?
The paint had flaked off the front hood so it's been spray-painted - otherwise, car exterior paint in pretty solid shape for a car from 1993.
The chrome strip is flaking - as you can see in the photos.
I can send you the VIN # if you're interested.
No on-board computers so if you're hands-on, you can do all your maintenance & repair.
Other things to note:
The radio is semi-functioning. The guy before me wired the interior lights into the radio so I just pulled the fuse ... you probably want to put in a better radio anyway - it's the stock Chevrolet one. Cassette deck on side no longer functioning. (By pulling the fuse, no interior lights obviously right now but they work fine. I will include some extra fuses - what a deal! :-)
My mechanic thinks a vacuum hose may have fallen out so there was an engine noise - I switched it to permanent 4-wheel drive - no noise anymore and no real effect on gas mileage so you can either resolve this or just drive it as-is as I have for the past year.
There seems to be a cruise control setting but I think it's no longer functioning - might just be a fuse issue - I did not really bother to investigate.
All and all - pretty solid throughout. Truck starts and runs great. As I said, it's loves the freeway. Back seats folds down for tons of room. Seats in pretty good shape and interior overall in fine shape. No Third Row seats. Does NOT burn oil. Exterior paint mostly still pretty nice except for driver door & hood.
